The Dresden Dolls’ Halloween Return, NY Press

On January 13, 2008, The Dresden Dolls played its last show together in Norfolk, Va.  Since then, the band released one  follow-up album, No, Virginia, full of B-sides and five new tracks before Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione went their separate ways, promising to return to The Dresden Dolls when the time was right. The punk cabaret duo did just that Sunday night to Irving Plaza, playing its first show in nearly three years.  Apparently more concentrated, focused, they plowed through more than 17 songs, opening mostly with tracks from 2006’s Yes, Virginia, including “Sex Changes” and other tracks from the 2004 self-title debut.
